What is a photo marathon?
A photo marathon is a fun and challenging photographic contest, where photographers of all ages and levels of expertise are challenged with specific themes to interpret within a specified time limit.
Where does the concept come from?
Photo marathons are already extremely popular across Europe, USA and Canada.
The oldest photo marathon (20 years) hosted in Copenhagen, Denmark attracted more than 300 teams to their most recent event.
When is it coming to Australia?
This year’s event will be hosted on 26 March 2011.
The first photo marathon was hosted in Canberra, ACT in March 2010. It was a huge success with the tickets selling out way in advance. We had a great time sharing the day with the contestants and we saw some fantastic photos entered as well.
The Canberra – Photo Marathon will again consist of 12 themes to be interpreted in a 12 hour time limit.
A gallery showcase, featuring all the contestants’ entries along with a prize giving ceremony, will be hosted in the weeks following the actual event
